“according to Canadian developmental psychologist Dr Gordon Newfeld – if we wanted to improve our children’s outcomes we’d send them to school late, not early. And essentially institutional daycare environments are a lot like school environments so attachment principles need to be paid attention to but above all parental choice and when we… fund one particular form of care we’re essentially distorting demand and telling parents that that’s what our country is allowing us to use or even encouraging us to use. So it’s about the choice factor really when it comes down to it” –
