“Changing provincial regulations so unlicensed home daycares are allowed to care for just THREE CHILDREN UNDER AGE 6, would be more incentive for them to become licensed” – February 25th, 2017
– Marnie Flaherty, CEO Today’s Family, HCCAO
The HCCAO has the ear of the Ministry of Education and was a significant contributor to the creation of the CCEYA’s current regulations. After the devastating blow to childcare accessibility, they wish to go even further to force us into the crippled agency sector by way of further restrictions.
Marni Flaherty and various other Agency supporters have the full attention and influence over this Ontario Ministry of Education. Should the Liberals win the next provincial election, we can be sure of one thing – complete decimation of our sector and a childcare shortage that will reshape the presence of women in the workforce for years to come.
CICPO continues to work with allies within the Progressive Conservative Party as we strive for changes to the legislation. We will be initiating new campaigns to combat the efforts of the Liberal Government and Licensed sector. We are calling on all ICPs and Ontario families seeking care to join the Coalition of Independent Childcare Providers of Ontario on Facebook and sign up to our website http://www.cicpo.ca/
The time to stand up and be heard is NOW in order to protect Ontario’s most popular, diverse and affordable childcare option!
